Impending again

Air temperature 38 F, wind WSW 4 mph, wan sunshine. We're supposed to get 2"-4" of snow tonight into tomorrow. Or maybe more. Or less. Or rain. New England weather confounds the computers.

Signs and portents

In spite of "winter weather advisories" and a spate of people, dogs, and children suffering from cabin fever, we had a pair of mallards claiming the remnants of the park's skating rink.

Two different mockers claiming territory on my neighborhood walk. Plus, I'd heard snatches of mockingbird song on one of my newspaper walks. So, they didn't all end up dead in snowbanks.
