Mad as a March hare

Air temperature 30 F, wind NNE about 10 mph, moderate to heavy snow falling. Managed the newspaper walk with minimal peril.

Simple gifts

Wind has quieted to the point where snow is stacking up in neat triangles on the thistle-feeder perches, apex to the end of the perch rod and hypotenuse back to the feeder tube. And then a junco flies in and fans the snowflakes away for a landing.

Driveway and car and steps and sidewalk cleared. Now the city plow can come by and erase our efforts as if we never lived.

On the snowmobile thing -- according to the Warden Service, most common causes of snowmobile accidents are speed, alcohol, and inexperience. Some of the crashes score the trifecta.
