Air temperature 13 F, clear, wind west about 7 mph, windchill 3. Record low for the date is -29 F, so maybe I shouldn't complain. Probably will, anyway . . .

Birds of a feather?
One of the groups of juncos that hangs around includes a white-throat sparrow. They get to work early -- saw shadows under the feeder while I was getting breakfast, not enough light to tell if one of them was actually brown.
A storm of waxwings
Flock of Bohemian waxwings swarmed our sideyard, over a hundred birds. The rowan tree was already bare, so they've moved on.
