I goofed on the storm prediction. Sky clear, waning half moon for the newspaper walk, air temperature 8 F, calm. Still have about a foot of snow pending, arrival starting noonish.

Minor amusements

Birds start coming to our feeders early, before I have enough light to identify them. But feeding patterns tell -- chickadees land, grab a seed, and leave, while finches land and stay.
