Few sprinkles for the morning newspaper walk.  Windy and spitting mixed precip now, temperature mid 30s F.

Meanwhile, back at the recession

The state organization that runs Wife's nature center has announced cutbacks at their head office.  We'll find out what that means locally in a couple of weeks.

It may only be a part-time job, but that steady paycheck (well, electronic deposit) sure helps smooth out the bumps of my erratic earnings . . .

(Edit:  that should be "state-wide organization" -- just realized that the original makes it look like she works for the state.  No.  A non-profit, in more ways than one.)

Theories

We had the largest collection of redpolls yet, side yard at the feeders and in the tree and on the ground.  Well beyond "lots."  Wife thinks they are gathering for the next move, and may vanish from our ken.
