Less windy

Gusts only supposed to reach 35 mph today.

We begin Garden Show Hell this morning, with setup for the nature center's booth and multiple haulings of stuff.  Wife doesn't have to handle the preview evening tonight, which is good, but morning and night visits will be required through Sunday.  Also, alarums and excursions if the volunteers don't show to man/woman the display.  Yecchh.

And, double yecchh, I do some preliminary car-shopping to find out how traumatic maintaining our two-car status will be.  AWD Subaru station wagons edge into the lower end of the luxury class price range, even used, but we rather like the winter-driving benefit.

The reason for spring cleaning

Just spent some time in the fresh air and sunshine, picking up the debris trail of our recent winds -- dead twigs and branches down from the sideyard maple, migrant plastic bags and candy-bar wrappers, some chunks of scrap lumber and shingle fragments that I hope didn't come from our house...

Can't claim a yard free of snow, yet, but we may be able to reach the compost bin with another few days of this.

Three hours and only one extra trip back to the nature center for some laundry baskets full of fuzzies, and the garden show booth and the information table (freebie handouts and some picture panels, no human presence) await tonight's gala preview.

Time marches on

Well, Younger Son has submitted his dissertation for his PhD in experimental psychology.  If the committee, etc. accept it, he may have to go to work for a living...
