More windy/sunny/red flag alert

That "red flag" thing is National Weather Service language for high fire danger.  Again with the dried-out brush and dead grass and leaves, gusty wind, don't go burning your trash today.

Also cool, temperature 41 F, which meant knit hat and gloves for the morning newspaper walk.  And my sinus-problem has more-or-less decided to degenerate into a standard-issue cold, so I wouldn't be trying to fit in a bike ride today anyway. 

Maybe if I was healthy, Life, the Universe, and Everything would look better.

Another man done gone

Walter M. Schirra Jr., one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts and the only man to fly on NASA's Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs, died Thursday. He was 84.
