Klausnerized

Well, Harriet has posted her review of DRAGON'S TEETH at Barnes and Noble online. She seems to like it. I emphasize seems, as the prose gets a little . . . disjointed. But she gave five stars. And fewer than the normal number of spoilers.

"A very original and entertaining fantasy story."

Then the confusing stuff, and the final:

"James A. Hetley is an extraordinary writer who writes a very original and entertaining story."

Hey, we'll go for the excerpts and forget decoding the rest.

Rite of Autumn

(Score by Igor the Hunchback, choreography by Martha Stewart...)

Took the air-conditioner out of the bedroom window this afternoon. We may yet get temperatures up in the 90s -- the records for the date go that high -- but I don't feel like listening to rain drumming on the metal.

Thunderstorm this evening featured flash-bang, strike somewhere within a hundred yards or so. We took a walk in between showers, but didn't see any obvious damage to the Catholic steeple or the firehouse bell tower or any other high points. Didn't lose power.
