January thaw?

Forecast is for temperatures into the 30s F today, maybe hitting 40 F tomorrow. We haven't had really cold weather yet, the run of overnight lows below -10 F. As I quoted Poor Richard the other morning, a degree-day saved is a degree-day earned.

Since They forecast rain for tomorrow, I slipped out after lunch and snatched another ski outing from the jaws of fate. Snow was wet, but neither slush nor ice, while I suspect both will apply tomorrow. After which, we'll likely be down to bare ground again.
