Actually... while watching the radar views/storm information available on Weather Underground ( see http://www.wunderground.com ) there was a 5 or 10 minute stretch where "tornado signature" was showing up on the map.
Here, we had a lot of lightning, including some nearby ground strikes, a good bit of wind, and heavy rain. We turned off the computers and the air conditioner and watched for a half hour or 45 minutes; the temperature fell from 88 to 72 pretty darned fast... they promised chance of hail, but we didn't see any.
Really, next "bonus" I get, I'm putting in a weather station...
