A lot of those Trump/Putin cartoons play on homophobia . . .

I've noticed this too. It seems a lot of cartoonists can only depict an entanglement through a sexual lens.

I haven't seen many cartoons so I can't comment. I did hear of one *comment*, from long ago, that struck me as "not homophobic, but probably appropriately treated as such". The insinuation was "Trump was eager to 'service' Putin". To me, the feel of the comment was "he *LOVES* Putin *SO MUCH*". But I realized that to probably 60% or more of the US, it would sound homophobic.

(I'm not sure why I'm mentioning this - an interesting sociological phenomenon? The difficulty of expressing "it must be LOOOOVE" without sex? A pondering of "it doesn't have to be based in X-ism, to be reasonably viewed as x-ist?")
